A custom, one-of-a-kind piece created through my signature process of tearing, layering, and weaving original artwork.
 
Each racket is constructed using 1/16" strips of hand-painted paper, carefully woven to form the “strings,” with the rim and handle built from layered and torn elements. The result is a highly tactile, dimensional work that blurs the line between object and painting.
 
Coloring: Black strings and shades of turquoise, dark blue, light blue and purples on the respective rims with pops of green throughout each racket.
Size: 30"x20"x1.5" 
Can be wired for either orientation to hang. Gloss varnish. Can be framed for an additional cost. 
 
Constructed on canvas (different than my other racket pieces, which are on panels) but the same depth. 
 
Artwork signed by artist in gold (not pictured) on the handle of the racket to allow for multiple hanging orientations.
 
These works are intentionally constructed with visible movement and tension within the woven surface. Subtle variation and natural shifting of strips is part of the material language of the piece. Careful handling preserves the integrity of the work while maintaining its hand-woven character.
