Azalea is created from torn and cut fragments of original paintings in acrylic, ink, and oil pastel. These pieces are deconstructed and intuitively reassembled onto an indigo canvas, where edges, layers, and intersections remain visible—honoring the process as much as the final composition.
As part of a new series, this work explores the relationship between bold color and scale. By breaking larger gestures into smaller fragments, the work allows unexpected harmonies to surface—revealing a balance that feels both spontaneous and intentional.
Currently a part of the Harris County Juried Exhibition. Will be available to ship or pick-up on July 18th. Thank you!
